Administration Department is responsible for processing payroll information and collecting fees for: issuing gun permits, producing police reports, boarding non-County inmates, providing security, and operating the jail kitchen.

This Department is also responsible for the day to day management of the established budget. In order to accomplish this task the Sheriff is assisted by the Undersheriff, Captain, Lieutenant and the clerical staff.

Records Department is responsible for the filing, storage and security of all records generated by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. This is all accomplished by a computerized record keeping system.

The Records Department is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. They will gladly assist the public in obtaining copies of records to include incident reports and motor vehicle accident reports. They will also be able to assist you in the procedure for obtaining a New York State Pistol License.
