Title
IV-D of the Social Security Act requires the State to operate a Child
Support program in conformity with the requirements set forth in that Title.
New York
State
has placed the responsibility for administering this program on local
counties.

Support collections have risen dramatically over the past six years from:

(an increase of 39.12%)
The
performance of the Unit determines the amount of Federal Incentive money
Washington
County
will receive as a “bonus” for performing well.
For the Federal Fiscal Year 2002
Washington
County
received $94,965 in Actual Incentive money, an increase of $15,393
over the estimated Incentive of $79,572.
