1. Children's Services Committee

    A member of the Youth Bureau/Alternative Sentencing staff attend monthly meetings of the Children’s Services Committee which is facilitated by the Washington County Department of Social Services.

  2. Global Youth Service Day

    For over 20 years, Global Youth Service Day (April 20-22) has brought together millions of children and youth in thousands of communities nationwide to celebrate the year round impact of the youth service movement and to inspire youth to begin a lifetime of service.

  3. Roots & Shoots

    Since 2010, the Youth Bureau/Alternative Sentencing Agency have been fortunate to work with a group of students in the Hudson Falls School District who are members of the Roots and Shoots Club.

  4. Sheriff's Summer Camp

    Washington County Youth Bureau and the Washington County Sheriff’s Department work together to ensure that each year, several youth have an opportunity to participate in the Sheriff’s Summer Camp that is owned and operated by the New York State Sheriffs’ Association.

  5. Transitional Services

    In collaboration with the Hudson Falls School District, the Youth Bureau/Alternative Sentencing Agency provides services to incarcerated youth in the Washington County Jail who have not received their GED or High School Diploma.

  6. Washington County Fair Booth

    Since 1995 the Washington County Youth Bureau’s staff have enjoyed making “buttons” for thousands of kids who visit the fair.

  7. Washington County Youth Bureau Garden

    Located in Argyle our garden produces numbers of produce each year, provides opportunities for youth to learn how to grow vegetables, and provides fresh food to our senior citizens.

  8. Youth Leadership Forum

    The annual Youth Leadership Forum is sponsored by the Association of New York State (NYS) Youth Bureaus and the NYS Partnership for children, youth, and families.
