Caregiver Support Services

This program assists informal caregivers, spouses, adult children, other family members, friends and neighbors in their efforts to care for persons who need help with everyday tasks.  This crucial assistance allows these person with chronic illnesses or disabilities to remain living in their own homes throughout our community.

Respite 
We offer non-medical respite services for caregivers.  These services are available to provide companionship, supervision, and some assistance with personal needs so that a caregiver can have a break  A donation of $5.00 per hour is suggested to support the continuation of these services, but no one will be denied service because of an inability to make a donation.

Personal Care Assistance
We offer non-medical personal care assistance for caregivers.  These services include assistance with Activities of Daily Living (i.e. dressing, bathing, personal care) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (i.e. shopping, cooking).

The Washington County Office for t he Aging and Disability Resource Center will pay the full cost of these services for all approved in-home services.  A donation of $5.00 per hour is suggested to support the continuation of these services, but no one will be denied services because of an inability to make a donation.

Social Adult Day Services
Social adult day service programs provide care to frail and disabled older adults in a supervised group setting within the community.  Services include socialization activities, supervision and monitoring, and nutrition.  Programs also provide personal care that includes hands on assistance with mobility, eating, and toileting (including care of incontinence).  All services are based on and individual care plan and assessment of the participant.  Social adult day services provide a break to caregivers and especially gives peace of mind to working caregivers.  A donation of $10.00 a day is suggested to support the continuation of these services, but no one will be denied service because of an inability to make a donation.
